Barton Cup Event: Foresomes Stroke Matchplay x 5 Pairs - Minimum combined Handicap (2009) not less than 14 Event rules Conditions link. 2011 : Manager Paul Fitzpatrick Round 1 : April Friday 10^th: Tulfarris ( Home) defeated Cradockstown 3 - 0 The team of 5 pairs playing foursomes golf was John Staunton and Keith Turner, Ciaran Curley and Jay Curley and Mick Curran and Phelim Dolan at home with John Curley and Andrew Meleady and Niall Robinson and Noel A Kelly playing away at Craddockstown. With two matches won at home, Tulfarris managed to win the first of the two away matches (on the 18th), giving the overall result to Tulfarris. A closely fought match - but then that seems to be the way of the Barton Cup! Well done to the team and to Manager Paul Fitzpatrick who would like to thank the members who turned out to support the lads. He would like to see more people out for the second round which will be against either Blessington Lakes or Baltinglass on a date still to be fixed. Tulfarris will again have "Home" advantage with 3 pairs at home and 2 away. Round 2 : Date TBA Tulfarris (Home) vs Blessigton Lakes or Baltinglass 2010 : Manager Pearse Daly Round 1 : April Friday 9^th: Tulfarris (Home 3 matches) defeated Miltown 3 -1 Home wins to John Staunton/James McCarron & Noel Kelly/Niall Robinson : Away win to Liam O’Loughlin/Pearse Daly Other Team members: Brendan Daly/Mick Curran : Paul Fitzpatrick/ Kevin Higgins Round 2: May 8^th: Tulfarris defeated Dublin City ( Home 3 matches) 4 -0 Home wins to John Staunton/James McCarron & Brendan Daly/Mick Curran Away wins to Liam O’Loughlin/Pearse Daly & Noel Kelly/Niall Robinson; Kevin Higgins/Ciaran Curley match All Square & called in after 17. Round 2: By May 30: Tulfarris lost to Blessington Lakes 3 - 1 Unfortunately we came out on the wrong side of the result on this occasion, again by a very narrow margin. The two "home" matches played in Tulfarris came out at one each. All three matches played "away" in Boystown went to the 18th, with one of them having to continue to the 19th. On this occasion Blessington Lakes got the two wins they needed at home to progress to the fourth round.
